Suspended IAS Officer has
replied to the chargesheet served by the Uttar Pradesh government
saying that she is innocent and was only following the Supreme Court
order while demolishing the wall of a mosque.
In her reply to the chargesheet served on August 4, the also
dismissed the state government's allegations that her action could have
sparked off communal tension saying that she had informed villagers on
an earlier occasion as well about the illegality of the religious
structure.
The government
had served a chargesheet to Nagpal alleging that she did not follow
legal process in demolishing the wall of a mosque in a village in the
state. The chargesheet reportedly stated that the SDM went to the site
even though there was no tension in the area over the construction of
the mosque. Sources said the chargesheet also said that Durga lacked
administrative skills. She has been asked to reply to the chargesheet in
15 days.
